Rather than launch into a long soliloquy and expound upon how awesome Tim Ho Wan is, Foodamentals is taking the approach of letting the food do the talking. Tim Ho Wan is a fast expanding dim sum restaurant in Hong Kong. At one point, it was known as the world’s cheapest one Michelin star restaurant, which I believe still holds to be true. But as of this writing(September 2014), there doesn’t seem to be anyone else who has dethroned Tim Ho Wan just yet. So with that, let’s walk through some beautiful looking dim sum.

Steamed Green Chives Dumpling with Shrimp

Looks and taste healthy, a great starter dish that’ll get you in the mood.

Deep Fried Eggplant Stuffed with Beef

It’s like biting into a firm piece of marshmallow. The beef masks the eggplant somewhat, but its still damn good.

Pan-Fried Turnip Cake

Can’t go wrong with this dim sum classic.

Steamed Rice Rolls Stuffed with Shrimp and Chives

Yup, another classic, but done Tim Ho Wan style.  Part of the Big 4 Heavenly King selection at Tim Ho Wan.

Steamed Fresh Shrimp Dumplings

This is like a must-have, regardless of what dim sum restaurant you go to. These are like the “canary in the coalmine,” the way that a dim sum restaurant makes these shrimp dumplings will tell you if the place rocks or blows.

Steamed Dumplings in Chiu Chow Style

If this is what chiu chow tastes like, then I need to move there(Guangzhou).

Baked Bun with BBQ Pork

This is the reason why you come here. So flaky, so meaty and so awesome.
