After going through the season of pumpkin spices, turkeys and everything in between. It’s finally our second favorite time of year! Our first being whatever season it is when the the cashier’s at McDonald’s Taiwan decide to dress up as anime maids, but hey, Christmas season comes in at a very close second.
Because the good people at McDonald’s know exactly what Americans want, they have decided what better way to celebrate Christmas than to launch an all-out assault on the senses then by releasing new Christmas themed drinks and snacks. Starting first off with new molten green tea cake(with red bean filling no less) and ooey gooey molten chocolate cake. Both look spectacular and the molten liquid bursting out from the cake crust may just light the fire under your chimney.
New snowy mint mocha, reindeer hot brownie chocolate and gingerbread latte’s are only available to our brothers across the pond in Hong Kong. Additionally, look at that coffee art! While I’m holding out very little hope that the actual finished product will resemble anything on the ad, I do understand that this is the season for unfulfilled expectations.
Blowing my mind away is the fact that McDonald’s actually sells respectable gift sets. Unlike the McDonald’s gift certificates that are given here in the United States, you can actually get a decent looking macarons gift set to give as… well, a gift. Not recommending you use this gift as a double-up for your anniversary present, but it would work pretty well for a white elephant or for your company’s gift exchange. It really says “I care, but just enough.”
No word yet on whether these will be making their way overseas. But like most cool things for Asia, chances are, they are never coming. #sadface
