For as much as we bemoan the inauthenticity of orange chicken, sweet and sour pork and crab rangoon, there is no denying the fact that these American Chinese fares are downright… delicious. Yeah that stuff is fake, who seriously, who cares. Once that sweet and tangy orange sauce hits your lips, even sex has nothing on that damn delicious sauce.
We aren’t the only ones who are in love with American Chinese food. In fact, in Shanghai, the land of “authentic” Chinese food, crowds descend upon Fortune Cookie restaurant to get a taste of our beloved crab rangoon. So its no surprise that Seoul has recently received their very first “authentic” Americanized Chinese restaurant in the form of Panda Express.
Located in Myeongdong, Panda Express opened its doors early September. No doubt hordes of expats convened upon the location and snapped up multiple 3 item entrees with a side of Coke. Most patrons commented that it tastes just like how they remembered it. Don’t quite know if that is good or bad, but to each their own.
