If you have ever taken the 4pm/5pm flight from SFO to Taipei, then you know all too well the miserable plight that we all face when our plane gets in at 10:00pm. There is nothing more soul crushing then getting into the most glorious food city in the world and realizing… every damn thing is closed.
Never fear! The good folks over at ET Today has put together this quick, but comprehensive, list of all the beef noodle soup joints that are open 24 hours a day! So next time you head back to Taipei, make sure to jot these places down to satisfy your intense noodle soup cravings as soon as you step off the plane!
建宏牛肉麵 (Jian Hong Beef Noodle Soup)
Featured prominently across blogs on the interweb, Jian Hong Beef Noodle Soup is a no-frills, unsanitary, cheap as hell joint – and that is just the way we like it. This nondescript place features slabs of thick cut beef that is paired beautifully in a bowl of delicious broth. This place is bringing it back OG style with its get-your-own-juice-box-out-of-the-fridge type of no frills. Definitely not for the non-Chinese speaker. But hey, if I can motivate you in any way, check out lohas pixnet’s page with even more intense beef noodle pictures.
富宏牛肉麵 (Fu Hong Beef Noodle Soup)
At first glance, I thought I was looking at 建宏牛肉麵 (Jian Hong Beef Noodle Soup) rather than 富宏牛肉麵 (Fu Hong Beef Noodle Soup) , but on closer inspection, these two shops are completely different despite the same exterior facade. Regardless, this 24 hour shop is very similar to all the other ones for its no frills, borderline dirty, but wholly authentic store front that serves only the best beef noodle soup.
伍柒玖專業牛肉麵店(Wu Qi Jiu Professional Beef Noodle Shop)
As a professional beef noodle shop(as compared to most shops which are amateur hour), Wu Qi Jiu apologizes to no one. Not only do they bust out some pretty professional beef noodle soup, but they also specialize in dumplings. Not a bad choice when you are drunkenly “sober” at 3am.
小吳牛肉麵(Xiao Wu Beef Noodle Soup)
With nothing over 90 NT($3 USD), Xiao Wu takes no prisoners when it comes to making sure you get the most out of your hard earned dollar. Pixnet blogger, Missdouble, has written about a shootout between Xiao Wu and Jian Hong for the title of the best 24 hour beef noodle soup. Without giving too much away, frankly, there are no losers when it comes to grub at 3am.
